Differences Food Cats and Dogs

There may be some cat lover friends who do not know that the dog food should not be given to cats or maybe some are asking whether or why dog food should not be given to cats? There is a fundamental difference between food for cat and dog food. This difference is used animal pet food manufacturers as a reference in formulating feed for cats. There are significant differences between the nutritional needs of cats with dogs. An example is:

• Cats require a higher protein than dogs. Protein is needed in the cat food (dry food) at least 26% and 22% for dogs. Cats are able to change the excess protein into energy for the body. But the dog if excess protein can cause itching and allergies can even cause damage to the kidneys to filter blood.
• cat food must have an amino acid called taurine, while the dog does not need the amino acid taurine in feed for the dog's body is able to produce its own taurine. The function of the amino acid taurine is to help digest fats and together with the mineral Zinc is useful for maintaining healthy eye and retina. If the cat food does not contain the amino acid taurine, it will cause a very severe heart disease and can cause damage to the retina of the eye on the cat. This is one of the factors causing the cat to be blind so could not see. Taurine requirement for cats is not all that much, only 0.1%, but this is an essential amino acid or amino acid that is most needed by the cat. This is the basis why the cat food should contain taurine.
• Cats can not use beta-carotene as a source of vitamin A, while the dog can use the beta carotene. Sources of Vitamin A for a cat is very different from the source of vitamin A for dogs. For his cat vitamin A derived from retinyl palmitate, which is commonly found in beef, chicken, chicken liver, milk, fish etc.
• Cats can not produce fatty acid arachidonic acid, so that the cat food should menggandung the fatty acid. As for dogs, fatty acid arachidonic acid is not required in the dog food.
On the basis of the above, if we give the cat the dog food then there is a lot of nutritional value and nutritional needs are less and are not fulfilled for the needs of the cat's body. This will cause health problems for our cats. We know that the imbalance nutrition including lack of one nutrient intake values will cause us pain in cats. For that give quality food to our cats, so the nutrients that the body needs are met with a good cat, complete and sufficient.
Thus the basic difference with the cat food dog food.
