The Story of Tobias, the Stray Kitten That Captured My Heart

Every time I look at my alpha male cat purring ever so contently at my feet, I can hardly believe that he used to be this hairless stray kitten which I found laying next to his dead sister. Yes, that is how I found him, and although I already had two cats back then, I just couldn't turn my back to a kitten in need, so I took him in and named him Tobias.

Tobias was covered from the tips of his ears, down to his toes, in some kind of nasty allergy and to be honest, I was very afraid that he might not make it. He was the sweetest kitten I have ever seen and his skin disease did not freak me out, it rather worried me instead. I gave him vitamins every day and I was pleased to see that he had a rather huge appetite. I'm sure that some of you are wondering by now why I didn't take him to the veterinarian, well where I live vets are really extremely expensive, plus they aren't very reliable, so all I could do is to try my best in making it work they way I knew how to make it work.

After a week of living with me, Tobias didn't show any signs of improvement, which worried me a lot but since his appetite grew even bigger I was filled with hope. Finally after three weeks he started growing very fine little hairs, you cannot imagine how thrilled I was to see that his condition was finally improving. In two months I had a very healthy and ever so loving, fully recovered kitten.

He learned how to become friends with my dog and my other two cants in no time, and soon he was part of our happy little family. Unlike all of my other cats, Tobias is the only one who drinks his vitamins with gusto, and even begs for more, silly cat. And as the months went by this kitten grew up to become a very big and strong alpha cat who now rules the neighborhood safe from any mean male cats who kill kittens.

By now he is a loving uncle to his many nephews and nieces, and takes care of every single kitten he sees. He may have grown up real quick, but what remained is the sweet love that this cat has given me since day one and the amazing bond that we share.
